Cameron Bright prepares for New Moon fame

Bright, 16, hasn’t even started filming his scenes as Alec — part of the Volturi vampire clan and twin brother of Jane (Dakota Fanning) in the Twilight sequel New Moon — yet he has been affected by Twilight mania since the day he was cast.

“It’s going to be kind of weird,” admits the Nanaimo, B.C., actor who confesses he had to be dragged to see Twilight, the first in a series of movies based on Stephenie Meyer’s popular romantic teenage vampire novels.

“All the guys were saying, ‘It’s a chick movie,’ but it was really good,” Bright recalls. “I’m glad to be a part of it.”

No sooner had news reports surfaced about Bright joining the New Moon cast headlined by Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and Michael Sheen, than he began getting text messages from his friends.

“Even if you’re in it for five minutes, you’re huge,” says the Victoria-born actor who made his debut in a Telus commercial. “You’re revered.”

Not surprisingly, he has also been getting more attention from female friends.

“I say ‘no’ right away, because when they walk up to me, I can sense what they’re going to say,” he says, laughing. “Can you get me Robert Pattinson’s autograph?’ ”

Fandango Exclusive Interview: Robert Pattinson

Fandango: Is it harder playing a real person, as opposed to playing the fictional Edward Cullen who had his story laid out in black and white?

Pattinson: I think in a lot of ways it's kind of the same. You're still playing fiction even though you're playing a real character. It's the same kind of approximation of somebody. The only thing that you can take from the book is the general outline, the mood changes, the emotional changes and development. I'm not playing it exactly as it is in the book.

Fandango: DalĂ was a famed surrealist and no doubt you’ve had your share of surreal experiences in the last few months – like fans screaming over cardboard cutouts of you at the video store.

Pattinson: I know! I was in a Blockbuster on the day it was being released. I had forgotten it was being released that day. There were two families who had come with eight- or nine-year old-daughters to get their DVD. They were standing in the line crying and I stood watching what all this commotion was about. They didn’t know I was there or anything. I was just thinking “Wow, you’re crying about a DVD.” It’s fascinating.

Fandango: And you never revealed yourself to them?
Pattinson: No way! [laughs]

Fandango: Do you and your castmates try to top each other with the wild post-fame encounters you’ve had?

Pattinson: In a lot of ways they are all quite similar. The funny thing is that I’m always going around trying to look as inconspicuous as possible I find that people are always really disappointed when they actually recognize me. They are like ‘”Oh! At first I thought you were a bum but then I realized who you were.”

Fandango: You’re just getting started shooting New Moon. How are things going?

Pattinson: The interesting thing about this one is that so much of my character is in Bella’s head. It’s based on a mixture of memories and nightmares. Bella thinks she is going mad. I get to do some really creepy stuff. In other words, Bella is really frightened of [her hallucinations]. It’s really, really different than Twilight. I think that a lot of people will be kind of scared by this one. I wanted to try and put that into Twilight but I couldn’t really find a way to make Edward scary. Click here to read more

Twilight Screenwriter: Bring On Channing Tatum!

Melissa Rosenberg spoke to E! online at the Los Angeles Times Book Festival benefit for the Writers Guild Foundation. She told E! that Channing Tatum would be perfect for the role of Riley in Eclipse. She said also talked about making Breaking Dawn PG-13 and Edward's presence in New Moon.
At least one very important person in the movie adaptations of Stephenie Meyer’s vampire love story thinks Tatum would be perfect to play bad-boy vampire Riley in Eclipse, the third in the four-book series.

“There’s a very big battle at the end with Riley, and I think Channing would do that so well,” Twilight and New Moon screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg, who is currently writing the Eclipse script, told us this weekend at the Los Angeles Times Book Festival benefit for the Writers Guild Foundation.

“And there are some complexities to that character," she adds. "He really is tragic. He’s a puppet for Victoria [bad-girl vampire played by Rachelle Lefevre]. So he has to break your heart a little bit at the end when he realizes that she doesn’t want him. Channing could do that beautifully.”

Rosenberg also confirmed some good news for Robert Pattinson fans...

Even though Edward Cullen may not be in the New Moon novel as much as he is in the others, she promised we’ll be seeing plenty of the Brit actor in the flick, which is currently shooting in Vancouver with director Chris Weitz.

“In the book, he’s actually an enormous presence in [Bella’s] mind,” Rosenberg said. “He’s so present in her mind throughout the entire center of the book, so we really played off that, and it kept him alive in a slightly different way, but fans will feel it’s true to the book. You can’t have a Twilight without Rob Pattinson.” Click here to read more

Kristen Stewart's Romantic Weekend with Michael

Kristen Stewart was spotted in Vancouver last weekend with her long time boyfriend Michael Angarano. Probably trying to dodge the rumors that she's dating Rob. LaineyGossip has the details of their romantic weekend together.

They went for sushi, she playfully hopped on his back, then when she realised she was being papped, she quickly jumped off. The two continued on their way all awkward and sh-t. She looks great, right? Very pretty, beautiful skin. Happy.

Am told exclusively that they spent a romantic weekend together – Michael arranged for accommodation at a different hotel, with an open ocean view, and they were able to escape for a day from the crowds waiting outside all the time.

Rob Pattinson in L.A.

Rob Pattinson was spotted slipping out of Vancouver last weekend according to LaineyGossip. Read about Rob's weekend from Lainey below.

Robert Pattinson slipped away from Vancouver this weekend for a quick break to LA. Returned back on Sunday night to continue working on New Moon. A few bedroom dream sequences are happening early this week. Then an interesting shoot later on. More details in the coming days.

As for his time in Los Angeles – he stayed relatively uncover, perhaps popping in to see a friend or two. Nikki Reed is his friend. Nikki’s in LA too. Here she is on a dog walk with friend Sage on Friday. At press time, no sign of Nikki on Saturday or Sunday. Have received many emails re: her super cute glasses. Nikki looks great in her glasses. Will post if I find out what brand.

Back to Rob - soon as he arrived back in Vancouver, he hooked up with Ashley Greene and Rachelle Lefevre at a pub for a few drinks to unwind.

Peter Facinelli and Cinderella's glass slippers

Peter Facinelli and his wife Jennie Garth were spotted at Disneyland on Friday (April 24) with their children.

ANAHEIM, Calif. --
Jennie Garth turned up at Disneyland on Friday with a bandaged up right foot, the result of a home injury earlier this week.

The “90210” star and her family – husband and “New Moon” star Peter Facinelli – and their children, hit the park on Friday where the couple poked fun at her bandaged foot.

Peter held up a “Cinderella”-style glass slipper to Jennie’s bandaged foot for the photos, taken at the Anaheim, Calif., amusement park.

Jennie reportedly hurt her foot earlier this week when she placed it wrongly on the last step on her home staircase. Click here to read more

Robsten...a Long Time Coming?

Ted Casablanca of E! Online has some new details about Rob and Kristen's karaoke night in Japan. Aside from the fact that they sang a duet of Elton John's "Your Song," apparently Rob's eyes lit up the moment he saw Kristen in the karaoke club.

Enough, for now, of the too fun Twi conspiracy. Let's take a look back and pay tribute to the cuteness that is Robsten. Apparently the writing was on the wall for the two babes, and it all came to a head when they were over in Japan promoting Twilight.

Remember, Kristen and Rob sang karaoke together covering Elton John's "Your Song"? Too presh, and we have new deets about just how adorable they were over there...

We're told by some workers there that when Kristen walked in the room, Rob's "eyes lit up as soon as he saw her."

R pulled out Kris' chair for her and from that moment on they were "in their own world." We're told there was definitely something going on between the good-looking duo because they kept leaning in and talking to each other the whole night.

Before the karaoke took place, apparently K.S. was nervous and wasn't sure if she wanted too. That's when Rob came over to "reassure her" she didn't have to. Gag, how cute.

Rob and Kristen were eventually joined by some more people who looked like they wanted to "separate [Rob and Kristen]," sitting between them and breaking up their convos.

After dorko evening, Kristen and Rob were supposed to go back to their hotels (they were staying at different ones, naturally), but we hear that may not have been the case. Oh, and this was supposedly when K and Michael were on one of their "breaks."
